Popular investigative journalist, Nicholas Ibekwe has attacked an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Lagos, Joe Igbokwe over alleged deception.
Igbokwe had posted a photo on Facebook which allegedly showed the mammoth crowd at a campaign rally for President Muhammadu Buhari in Kano.
However, Ibekwe accused him of lying, saying the photo was actually of 40,000 spectators who crammed into a 16,000-capacity Ahmadu Bello Stadium n Kaduna to watch an AFCON 2017 qualifier between Nigeria and Egypt in 2016.
Ibekwe, who is a journalist with Premium Times, took to his Twitter handle to bash the APC chieftain.
He tweeted, “I believe Joe Igbokwe deliberately posts these fake photos.
“The last time I asked him why he doesn’t verify information before posting he said he has a “trusted source” where he gets what he posts.
“Since then he has continue(d) posting fake images and outright disinformation.”
