Portuguese tactician, Jose Mourinho is set to rake in as much as £60 million over a period of three years, if he lands the Manchester United managerial role in the summer, The SUN reports.
The deal, beefed up by bonuses for titles and cups won, will make the 53-year-old the richest manager in history and eclipse the £15 million per annum to be earned by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
The proposed deal is also almost double the amount being earned by current United gaffer, Louis van Gaal.
While the club have not signed a pre-contract with Mourinho as previously reported in the media, there is a verbal agreement that the former Chelsea manager will take over at Old Trafford at the end of the current season.
