Nigerian Afrobeat singer Wizkid, who has gone international and crossed boundaries with his sound has achieved a feat few Nigerian musicians seem to have ever reached.
American rapper Joe Budden on a his talk show where the rapper sat down with other artiste to analyze the Nigerian’s latest style (a fusion of Afrobeats and Carribean sounds) which became popular after Wizkid’s collaboration with Drake on one Dance has said that American artists are copying Wizkids sound and don’t support him enough.
Joe accused Americans of not promoting Wizkid, he said what bothers him most is that they never bought his album.
He said; “Wizkid’s album came out. We’ve never talked about it, and it’s amazing. I don’t think it is fair that all you niggas can steal Wizkid’s Carribean-fucking style and flow and songwriting and not buy the fucking album.”
"Y'all n*ggas should go buy Wizkid's album if y'all are gonna appropriate his f*cking music and style." – Joe Budden | #EverydayStruggle ☕️ pic.twitter.com/m71wN8oYAF
