Popular Nollywood actor Jim Iyke shed light on his reasons for having a select circle of friends during a recent interview on the Deep Dive podcast.
Iyke, known for his intense characters on screen, says he struggles to maintain friendships with those who hold grudges.He elaborated on his preference for friends who can keep pace with his personal growth, which he describes as rapid.
“I need someone who won’t dwell on old arguments,” Iyke explained. “I’m constantly evolving, and some people can’t handle that. The person I was yesterday is different from who I am today.”
Iyke emphasized that his friendships prioritize quality over quantity. He said he doesn’t require constant contact but values friends who offer genuine support when needed.
“I won’t be the one attending every birthday or anniversary,” he admitted. “But when it truly matters, I’ll be there for you.If I sense you need me, I’ll move mountains.”
