Following the news of Queen Elizabeth’s ill health, US-based Nigerian queer professor, Uju Anya made a vile tweet about the Queen which prompted a bewildered response from Jeff Bezos on Twitter.
She tweeted saying “I heard the chief monarch of a thieving raping genocidal empire is finally dying. May her pain be excruciating.”
To which Jeff responded “This is someone supposedly working to make the world better? I don’t think so. Wow.”

An hour after this exchange, Queen Elizabeth’s death was announced (May her soul rest in peace). But Uju Anya has unapologetically doubled down on her statement in another tweet where she says,
“If anyone expects me to express anything but disdain for the monarch who supervised a government that sponsored the genocide that massacred and displaced half my family and the consequences of which those alive today are still trying to overcome, you can keep wishing upon a star.”
