Lagos Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu

The Lagos State Police Command is on the trail of a man identified simply as Keke for stabbing a fashion designer, Daniel, to death.

Keke allegedly stabbed the victim to death for admiring his pregnant wife.

It was learnt that Keke returned home from work when a neighbour informed him that Daniel was having an illicit affair with his wife.

This angered the suspect who challenged the fashion designer and threatened to stab him with a knife.

Daniel was said to have rushed into his apartment upon sighting the knife only for the suspect to badge into the apartment and stab him in the chest.

The victim was rushed to a hospital where he died around 11 pm on Monday.

Keke and his yet-to-be-identified wife have since gone into hiding to avoid becoming victims of mob action.

Confirming the incident, Lagos police spokesman, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, said, “As soon as the incident was reported, police detectives attached to the Sabo division immediately visited the scene. The victim was taken to the Harvey Road Hospital, Yaba, for medical attention, but he died while being attended to.

“The body has been deposited at the Yaba Mainland Hospital’s morgue for an autopsy.”

Ajisebutu stated that the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has directed that the case be transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, for diligent investigation.

The police spokesman added that the commissioner has also directed that all efforts should be made to arrest the fleeing suspect.
