Rap mogul Jay-Z is expanding his empire by establishing his own sports management company.
The ‘Empire State of Mind’ hitmaker and part owner of the Brooklyn Nets basketball franchise has teamed up with bosses at the Creative Artist Agency (CAA) to form Roc Nation Sports, which was officially launched this week.
A statement from the 43-year-old, real name Shawn Carter, reads, “Because of my love of sports, it was a natural progression to form a company where we can help top athletes in various sports the same way we have been helping artists in the music industry for years.”
Jay-Z signed his first client, New York Yankees star Robinson Cano, on Tuesday and the baseball player posted an image of the pair signing his new contract on Twitter alongside the caption, “Rocboys!”
