In the wake of the R. Kelly scandal and the new revelations that have been coming out, a question that has been commonly asked is: Who else in the Entertainment industry knew?
And Just as it was revealed that some of Hollywood’s most revered and vaunted actors knew about Harvey Weinstein’s misdeeds, so also in this case as it was claimed by rapper NAS that Jay-Z knew about R. Kelly’s dalliances with underage girls.
NAS who had a legendary beef with Jay-Z, said in an interview with Wendy Williams, that both he and Hova knew about what R. Kelly was doing.
The interview which was held in 2002, was with Wendy Williams who was still on 107.5 FM.
“That’s not my style,” NAS said “I could have showed the R. Kelly video that everybody’s talking about and made fun of it and show pictures of Jay hanging out. You can’t tell me Jay didn’t see a 14-year-old girl come into the studio and sit on R. Kelly’s lap. You gonna tell me he didn’t see no 14-year-old girl come into the vicinity?

“You’ve seen it go down. I’ve been around R. Kelly … I’ve been on tours with him. I didn’t see no 14-year-old, but I talked to the man and see there’s a little problem there. The brother needs help and I pray for him. I’m here for the people. I’m here to talk the truth.”
The interview has once again become prominent in light of the new Lifetime series, ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ which chronicles the singer’s inappropriate relationships with several girls.
Jay- Z has so far said nothing about the matter, preferring to keep quiet while the internet has gone back and forth with accusations and counter-arguments.
NAS’ interview was held in the wake of the infamous urinating video in which a person, purported to be the ‘I believe i can fly’ singer was urinating on an underage girl.
