Popular actress, Kate Henshaw says it is within her right to host a fundraiser for Governor Hope Uzodimma, the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State.
Henshaw, who is a well-known supporter of Labour Party (LP), said this in a Friday post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The 52-year-old actress was reacting to controversy generated after a video surfaced of her and comedian, Okey Bakassi entertaining guests at the fundraiser.
Many netizens, especially on X, accused the actress of hypocrisy, querying why she would be openly associating with the APC given her outspoken support for LP in the last general election.
Reacting, Henshaw said the “noise” about her presence at Uzodimma’s presence was unwarranted.
“Someone called me this morning to check the X app. I was invited to host a fundraiser alongside my colleague. I accepted. My prerogative. What is the noise about? The difference btw you and I is that I will still speak my truth as I see fit. End of,” Henshaw said.
