Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmad has denied orchestrating the suspension of Salihu Yakasai, Special Adviser on Media to Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
In a series of tweets on Sunday, Yakasai had accused President Muhammadu Buhari of lacking empathy for failing to address Nigerians over the #EndSARS protests.
Few hours later, Ganduje ordered his suspension over his “unguarded utterances”.
However, some Nigerians said Ahmad, who hails from Kano, was behind Yakasai’s suspension.

In a tweet late Sunday evening, the presidential aide denied any involvement.
He said the suspended Kano governor’s aide has been a long-time friend whom he would never betray.
“Don’t have a hand in what happened to my brother Salihu Tanko Yakasai (Dawisu) as some tweets appeared on my TL suggested, he is a friend not from yesterday, but from many years, and we will remain so, as long as we all breath,” Ahmad said.
