“It Is Unscriptural To Preach Against Drinking Alcohol” – Reno Omokri

2 Min Read

Reno Omokri has voiced his opinion that people who use their tithe to buy alcohol are not sinners because alcohol is scriptural.

Reno Omokri tweeted that it is blasphemy for anyone to preach against drinking alcohol because according to the writer, they drink wine in heaven.

Reno Omokri tweeted: “Drinking alcohol is no sin. Drunkenness is sin. It is unscriptural to preach against alcohol. Even in heaven they drink wine (Matthew 26:29). Paul encouraged wine drinking (1 Tim 5:23). Scripture allows you use your tithe to buy alcohol (Deu 14:26)”

This comes after Popular On-Air-Personality, Ifedayo Olarinde aka Daddy Freeze reacted to a claim by Bishop David Oyedepo that tithing is a prerequisite for becoming prosperous.

The claim was made in a tweet via Oyedepo ministry’s Twitter handle on Thursday.

In Christian doctrine, a tithe is one-tenth of a member’s earnings paid to the church.

“Tithing is an inescapable covenant obligation. Prosperity not just wealth is impossible without tithing, because when you’re not paying your tithe, you’re under a financial curse,” the tweet read.

But Daddy Freeze, who runs the online ‘Free the Sheeple’ movement, described the claim as “utter nonsense” and “unscriptural”.

He maintained that neither Jesus nor his disciples collected tithe from anyone, making payment of tithe not a duty in Christianity.
