The Slovakian Prime Minister, Robert Fico has revealed that “Islam has no place” in his country.
The revelation comes weeks before he takes over as the President of the European Union.
Robert Fico who won the ticket for the third time into the Slovakian premiership in March on the platform of the leftist-nationalist Smer-Social Democracy party revealed that he would not allow a single Muslim migrant into the country.
While Speaking about migration to Slovakian news agency, TASR, Robert Fico said: “When I say something now, maybe it will seem strange, but I’m sorry, Islam has no place in Slovakia.
“I think it is the duty of politicians to talk about these things very clearly and openly.
“I do not wish there were tens of thousands of Muslims.”
Fico, on behalf of Slovakia has joined forces with the likes of Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland in calling for the European borders to be sealed off as a means of tackling it’s migration and refugee crisis.
