Popular blogger, Gistlover, has sparked controversy online by exposing female celebrities who allegedly have relationships with politicians, specifically the Nigerian Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
The blogger shared photos of these women and claimed that they receive financial support from Akpabio. Gistlover alleged that some of these women use their relationships with politicians to launder money and fund their lifestyles.
The blog specifically mentioned a woman named Shontel, who is allegedly one of Akpabio’s side chicks. According to Gistlover, Shontel was helped by Akpabio to secure a government job at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) as a ghost worker, meaning she doesn’t actually work but still receives a salary. The blog also claimed that Shontel and Akpabio started a fake foundation together to launder money.
Gistlover also went as far as accusing the senator of corruption. The blog shared phone numbers of Akpabio, his wife, and two alleged mistresses, claiming to have evidence of his wrongdoing.
Gistlover criticized Akpabio for his treatment of women and alleged misuse of public funds. The blog encouraged readers to call Akpabio and his wife to express their opinions and demand accountability.
The blog also promised to expose more details about Akpabio’s personal life and alleged embezzlement unless he apologizes for his harsh treatment of women.
Some popular actresses mentioned in involvement with the politician include — Ini Edo, Dakore Egbuson, Miswanneka, Nancy Isime, amongst others.
While Ini Edo is yet to address this unfounded claim, the likes of Dakore Egbuson has decided to take up matters and issue a suit against the blog for libelous comments on her and her brand.
