The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has stated that all Igbo leaders who visited President Muhammadu Buhari a day after the massacre of its members are traitors.
It accused security agencies of going all out to fabricate all manner of allegations and accuse the IPOB of being violent.
In a press statement signed by its coordinator, Clifford Iroanya, the group said it was surprised at the likes of those who rushed to Buhari and congratulated him for reportedly killing Biafrans on the fateful day and not to condemn his murderous act or to discuss the process of restoration of Biafra.
“It is now left for Biafrans to decide what to do with these traitors,” the statement said.
In a related statement, the state directorate of IPOB, described the killing as unwarranted.
Head of the directorate, Mazi Uchenna Asiegbu, said on behalf of the group: “The massacre, the maiming and forceful displacement of unarmed peaceful people of Biafra on a day we were remembering the atrocious genocide of the same government is utterly unthinkable and absurd.”
