Pro-Biafra group, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, yesterday accused the Federal Government of trying to cause war within the Igbo speaking Biafran agitators and the Ijaw.
The group made this allegation in a statement issued by its spokesman, Emma Powerful. The statement which was made available in Awka said the Federal Government is threatened by the unity among the Biafran agitators who have been brought together by a common goal and cause and has therefore decided to hatch a plan to cause confusion and collision within the otherwise peaceful and focused group.
The statement reads in part: “By carefully inserting a fabricated Ijaw name as the leader of this non-existent group of reprobates (for RE-IPOB), Buhari is looking to generate enmity between the Igbo-speaking part of Biafra and the people of Ijaw.
“In Buhari’s thinking, he hopes to further make the restoration of Biafra an impossibility by entrenching perpetual enmity among various sections of Biafra land.”
The IPOB further in its statement rebuked the Ohanaeze Ndigbo leaders for serving as political jobbers.
The group further said the Ohanaeze Ndigbo leaders lack shame as they’ve hit a new los.
The statement further said that “those thinking that IPOB is a pushover group are in for a shock. We will make them understand that no amount of divide and rule tactic will prevail.”
