Insecurity: NAF Introduces Special Training For Personnel

The Nigeria Air Force said it had commenced special training for its personnel  to strengthen their capabilities in prosecuting the  war against insurgency.

The Chief of Air staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar stated this on Tuesday in Bauchi when he visited trainees, as well as inspected training facilities at the Regiment Training Centre, Nigerian Airforce ,situated at the Special Operations Command, Bauchi.

“Government is acquiring soldiers for special operations, not only in the North East, but also in the North West as we need highly trained men to protect those air assets.

“These guys that you see here training, are the ones that are ultimately going to be used to ensure that the assets are protected.

“We are here to asses the conduct of the training, and we are very satisfied with what we have seen,” Abubakar said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that currently, 180 officers and men have undergone six weeks special training that would last 13 weeks.

Abubakar, led by Officer Commanding, Special Operations Command, AVM Charles Ohwo, had earlier on arrival, visited swimming pools, Obstacle Crossing Areas and Bulk Aviation Gas Installations.

He also visited Regiment Training Accommodation (RTA), where he was briefed by AVM Charles Ohwo, Air Officer Commanding Special Operations  on the level of skills imparted on the trainees.
