Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique has said that injuries will not be an excuse for his team to lose to Sevilla when both teams meet on Saturday.
The Blaugrana are without Argentine talisman, Lionel Messi, who sustained a knee injury Las Palmas on Saturday that club doctors say could keep him out of action for up to 8 weeks.
Rafinha, who is out of the season, Andres Iniesta and Claudio Bravo are other notable players also battling with injuries, although Bravo is said to be close to a return to the squad.
The Asturian coach believes however that the team will slug it out despite these injury problems.
“It’s a situation that comes about and it happens to all teams at some point,” he said, “It does not matter what happens, we will still battle and be united.”
According to him, “Over the season it is the squad that wins, even though we do have the best player in the world Leo Messi. I have the utmost confidence in my squad.”
Speaking on Luis Suarez’s form, Enrique said, “He has always performed for us, even when the stats might have indicated otherwise.”
