Following Tuesday’s humiliation at the hands of AS Roma, Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta has hinted at calling it quits at the Camp Nou.
Iniesta watched agonisingly on the sidelines after his 81st-minute substitution as a Daniele De Rossi-captained side grabbed a third goal in the 82nd minute to advance to the semi finals.
The shocking loss, after a 4-1 first leg advantage, confined Barcelona to their second straight exit to an Italian side and Iniesta has hinted that he has had enough.
“It’s a possibility that this might be my last game in the Champions League but right now this is hard for all the team, all of us.
“We so wanted to win this tournament but we’ve failed to do so again. It’s really tough.
“It seems untrue. Very hard to accept. With the advantage we had we went out because we really did things badly. The Champions League punishes you for that,” he said in a post-match interview with UEFA.com
