Barcelona captain, Andres Iniesta has confirmed that he will be leaving Barcelona at the end of the season.
He said this in a Friday afternoon press briefing.
The 33-year-old further disclosed that he would not be playing in Europe after his Barca exit.
This, he said, was to foreclose any chance of playing against the La Liga giants that he joined as a 13-year-old.
The World Cup winner, who was in tears, said, “This is my last season here. I know what it means to demand what it means to play here year after year.
“I know what it means to be captain of this club. So, being honest with me and the club, I understand that my stage is over.
“There are still things to be sorted. I have said I will never play against Barca, so I won’t play in Europe. Barca has given me everything.”
