Indicators point to Jonathan sacking Aviation Minister Oduah

2 Min Read

Insiders have revealed that President Jonathan may terminate the appointment of the Aviation minister, Stella Oduah. Sources in Aso Rock have said the Aviation Minister who used to be a regular face within the premises has made her visits to the seat of power few and far between.

The scarcity of the aviation minister is said to be related to the work of the Presidential panel which is said to have already told President Jonathan that the Aviation minister and her cohorts committed several grave infractions concerning the purchase of the armoured BMW cars.

The House Committee on Aviation’s report on the scandal recommended the President sack Ms. Oduah, however sources say the President would wait for the outcome of his own panel which is expected to reach a similar decision.

An insider said, “I am sure you are aware that the President also set up an administrative panel to probe this matter.

“If he has confidence in the House of Representatives probe and is duty-bound to implement its resolution, he would not have bothered to set up a separate probe panel.

“The position of this government from inception has been that the resolutions of the National Assembly should be seen strictly as what they are: they are simply advisory and the President is not legally bound to implement them.

“Let us all wait for the President’s administrative panel to conclude its work and see whether he will implement the report or not.”
