An Indian man has been arrested for impersonating a Nigerian man and obtaining a visa to Dubai, United Arab Emirates in the Nigerian’s name without seeking his permission.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, quoting a source in the Federal Criminal Intelligence Investigation Department Annex, Alagbon close, Lagos Mohammed Shazul was nabbed by the men of the Nigeria Police after the Nigerian petitioned the Office of the Inspector General of Police over the issue.
Shazul was said to be the Vice-President of Fast Logistics Solution Group, an air cargo company based in Dubai.
The Nigerian, Mr Ayodotun Babalola, in his petition to the IGP said that the suspect and the President of the company, one Mr. Al-Ameen Kerala and others, used the data page of his international passport to obtain a UAE visa without his knowledge.
This, he said, has disrupted his business by preventing him from being able to travel to Dubai to transact his own business, because they held on to the passport with his name on it.
Shazul was arrested on Monday at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport on arrival from Dubai.
