The senator representing Bayelsa East senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Ben Murray-Bruce has criticised the Director of Strategic Communication for President Buhari’s 2019 Campaign, Festus Keyamo (SAN), for disagreeing with statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) that Nigerians were getting poorer under the present administration.
The NBS had said in a recent release that 18.80 percent of Nigerians were unemployed in the third quarter of 2017, compared to 9.90 percent in the third quarter of 2015.
In an interview with The Interview, Keyamo said, “Where does the National Bureau of Statistics get its figures from? I don’t believe those statistics!”
Taking to his verified Twitter handle on Thursday morning, Murray-Bruce, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator, shaded the senior lawyer for disagreeing with the figures.
He said, “The Nigerian Bureau of Statistics which is owned and managed by the Buhari administration just released a statement saying that Nigerians are getting poorer under the Buhari government and the spokesmen to Buhari’s campaign says he does not believe them. Denial is not The Nile!”
