Toyota is an automotive brand under the Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) with headquarters in Japan. Toyota as a brand was first established in 1937 by Kiichiro Toyoda.
TMC produces vehicles under five brands, including the Toyota brand, Hino, Lexus, Ranz, and Scion, the most popular being the Toyota brand.
The company has grown steadily ever since, becoming the largest automobile manufacturer (by production) in 2012, beating heavyweights Volkswagen and General Motors.
