Barcelona forward Neymar has insisted on a long-term stay at the Blaugrana, declaring that he intends to sign a new contract with the club.
The 23-year-old Brazilian is the highest goal scorer in the current La Liga season, and put in an impressive showing in Saturday’s 4-0 mauling of Real Sociedad, scoring two goals and providing an assist.
In the post-match interview, he said: “It’s true that my dad said that the tax issues are a problem, but we’re talking all that over. I’m still under contract and of course I intend to sign a new one.”
Neymar said he was pleased with his recent showing but would like to improve. “I’m in the form of my career. I’m really pleased with how everything’s happening for me; I’m helping my teammates to the best of my abilities and they’re doing the same for me. I hope to keep improving,” he stressed.
