The South African superstore Shoprite opened its doors to the residents of Imo state for the first time after a commissioning ceremony yesterday. They wasted no time thronging the location to have a look around and buy things.
The ceremony which was overseen by the State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Sir Jude Ejiogu, described the coming of Shoprite to Owerri as symbolic since it was happening in his administration, even as he promised to support the establishment as well as all other progressive investments in the state.
Shoprite also recently opened branches in Akure and Onitsha to further their ambitions of being everywhere in Nigeria and providing quality goods and products for the average Nigerian.
