Despite not winning a league title in any of the top clubs he played for, Togolese football star, Emmanuel Adebayor has refused to rule out a chance of winning football’s most coveted individual prize – the Ballon D’Or.
Adebayor, whose illustrious career has seen him play for Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City and Real Madrid, currently plays for Turkish first division side, Istanbul Basaksehir, where he is leading the top scorers chart.
Adebayor, 33, is refusing to rule out a resurgence in form to claim the top honour.
He said, “I had dreamt of playing for Arsenal and Real Madrid and those dreams came true,” Adebayor said. “Maybe I can dream of winning the Ballon d’Or and that can come true as well. “I’m not really happy with my football career but I can’t complain about it either. I’m still alive, so I can keep dreaming.”
He identified former Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho as the best coach he worked under and former Manchester City manager, Roberto Mancini as the worst coach he worked with.
