Speaking exclusively to The Herald about her preferred genre of music, EME first lady and songstress Eniola Akinbo aka Niyola said she is ‘not necessarily a n RnB singer’. She described herself as versatile.
“I am not necessarily an R n B singer, I like to think of myself as versatile. I do whatever comes to me naturally but my core really is R n B but I can adopt any sound or style I want and fuse it with R n B depending on how I am feeling.”
Asked about what led her to carve out a career as a musician and whether she has had any regrets, she said: “I am exactly where I was born to be. I am not doing music because I have nothing else to do. Music is my path and that’s why I made a career of it.”
Niyola’s whose ultimate goal as a musician is ‘using her gift to inspire many lives also revealed when her debut album under EME will be dropping.
“I am working on releasing my first album on EME next year. It should have been this year but due to uncontrollable circumstances, we had to move it till next year.”
