Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has vowed to lead security agents into hideouts of criminals in the state and smoke them out in the coming days.
He stated this in an interaction with reporters at the Eid ground in Agasa, Okene Local Government Area of the state.
The governor assured residents that his administration would continue to work round the clock to ensure their safety.
Bello said his administration would not condone the activity of criminals and would never negotiate with them.
The governor said it was better for the criminals to surrender as the onslaught on them would be sustained under they are completely crushed.

“The bandits are spilling into the state especially on Abuja-Lokoja highway carrying out attacks on commuters recently.
“We are not going to fold our hands and watch neither thinking of negotiating with any criminal gangs; we know what to do and they are aware of what we can do.
“In the days ahead, I will lead security agents into their hideouts and smoke them out,” Bello said.
He noted that some persons that have chosen not to do honest work would not be allowed to make everyone else feel unsafe.
“Those who want to engage in illicit endeavours such as armed robbery, kidnapping and banditry will be crushed,” the governor added.
