In order to boost electricity supply and give consumers easy access to meters, Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company is set to commence the second phase of its advanced meter installation project.
While speaking at a press conference at the corporate head office of the company in Lagos, the CEO of the company, Mr. Abiodun Ajifowobaje said during the first phase which commenced in June, the company was able to install more than 7,621 meters.
The project is expected to deploy approximately 300,000 electric meters for residential, commercial and industrial customers between September 2015 and December 2016.
Ajifowobaje said the first phase which was the pilot project was aimed at evaluating and identifying the shortcomings that may arise during the commencement of the second phase.
