The Inspector of General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has once again snubbed the Senate who had extended an invitation to him to explain the circumstances surrounding the arrest and persecution of Dino Melaye.
Recall that the Senator was arrested after a siege was laid on his house and then he attempted to escape while being transported after which the Police stormed the hospital and rearrested him even while admitted.
The Senate in response to this had, yesterday, ordered the IGP to appear in the chamber to address the lawmakers in plenary on Thursday
The IGP failed to do so and instead accompanied President Muhammadu Buhari on a state visit to Bauchi State.
The appearance has now been scheduled for next week Wednesday, however, the Senate criticised the Police boss’ refusal to keep them in the loop about his assignment with Buhari.
