Super Eagles and Watford forward Odion Ighalo has affirmed his commitment to the club, stating that he would not allow himself be tempted away by big money offers from some interested major European clubs.
The 26-year-old has netted 14 times in the league already and pooled a total of 30 to become the highest scorer in the English Premier League in 2015.
The exploits attracted interest from major clubs, including Spanish giants, Atletico Madrid who were touted to have contemplated a £12 million move to prise the striker from Vicarage road.
However, in an interview with BBC Sports, Ighalo said: “I want to finish the season strongly with Watford and prove that we have a good bunch of players here.
“When the focus is on a strong finish, transfer talk will not get to you.
“I haven’t really bothered myself about statistics because I’ve always had my feet on the ground and I never forget where I come from. I am just focused on getting better, doing things right on the pitch and being myself on the pitch.”
