Watford FC of England striker, Odion Ighalo struck twice to secure a much-needed win for his team as they beat Newscastle 2-1 on Saturday.
The Nigerian forward has now hit 20 goals in 2015, the highest by any player in all the four divisions of English football.
He has also scored four goals in six EPL matches, which means he is now second highest joint top-scorer with Bafetimbi Gomis of Swansea City FC. The top scorers so far in the EPL are Riyad Mahrez of Leicester City and Callum Wilson of AFC Bournemouth, with five goals each.
Ighalo has justified the confidence Eagles coach Oliseh reposed in him when Oliseh invited him for the team’s double-header friendly games against Congo and Cameroon in October, after he was passed over for selection in the team’s 2017 AFCON qualifier match against Tanzania.
Elsewhere, Victor Moses scored a 6th minute goal to help his team West Ham to an unexpected 2-1 win over table toppers, Manchester City.
