A faction of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Sovereign State of Biafra has on Wednesday accused Igbos, especially the political class, of being the cause of their own political woes.
According to the group’s Director of Information, Uchenna Madu the Igbo nation should not have gone all out to support the candidacy of immediate-past president, Gooduck Jonathan.
Speaking in Awka, Anambra State, Madu said “President Buhari is just paying Ndi-Igbo back in their own coin as they did not vote for him or his party, the APC because the Igbo men openly and shamefully campaigned for Goodluck Jonathan who politically deceived them.
“As it stands, many Igbo leaders will continue to blindly wallop in Nigeria’s political wilderness until they rediscover the courage of Ojukwu as enshrined in the spirit of Biafra’s consciousness and the unrelenting and undeterred spirit of no retreat, no surrender.”
President Muhammadu Buhari has been recently criticized by many political opponents, who accused him of deliberately trying to marginalise the Igbo for not voting for him in the April presidential elections by not appointing them into any political office in his administration.
