2 Min Read

Chief Fidelis Umeh, the President-General of Igbo Cultural Association in Adamawa, has commended Gov. Muhammadu Bindow’s efforts at maintaining peace and stability in the state.

Umeh made this known at a news conference held in Yola on Thursday, describing the governor as a role model in bringing about change, development and peaceful co-existence among diverse people of the state.

According to him, activities of Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) were not in the overall interest of the Igbos.

“The Igbos residing in the state are totally against the movement and activities of IPOB.

“ Permit me to use this ample opportunity to indicate my ardent admiration and profound appreciation to Gov. Bindow for the positive change and development he has brought to the state.”

Umeh also expressed gratitude to the governor for ensuring that the Igbos live in peace in the state, saying that the Igbo community appreciated his concern for their safety.

“We Igbo community in the state want to use this opportunity to appreciate your hospitality and tolerance to primordial, ethnic and religious differences.

“ We also promise to remain law abiding citizens and to always offer our unflinching support as we work together in transforming the state.

“We, the leaders of Igbo in the state are therefore, calling on all our brothers and sisters across the state to remain calm and go on with their normal businesses.” Umeh added.
