The Sarkin Fulani of Igangan in Ibarapa North LGA of Oyo State, Alhaji Saliu Abdulkadir, says he lost property valued at N500 million in last Friday’s attack on the Fulani settlement in the town.
The Fulani settlement in the town was attacked last Friday after a seven-day ultimatum for the Fulani residents to vacate the town expired. Houses and vehicles were reported destroyed in the mayhem.
A Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho issued the vacation order.
Reacting, Abdulkadir said he would not have lost property in the incident if the police had not given him a false sense of safety.
The octogenarian and native of Ilorin in Asa local government area of Kwara state spoke during a press conference in Ilorin.
He said he lost property valued at N500 million, including 11 exotic cars, 207 cows, his buildings and other properties therein.

Akdulkadir, who wept during the press conference, said, “Few days to the time the destruction would happen after Sunday Igboho had given me an ultimatum, the police came to my place and told me that I shouldn’t worry because Sunday Igboho will not carry out his threat or do anything to me. It is on this strength that I relaxed because I believe the police.
“If I knew that Sunday Igboho would come and attack us the way he did, I would have left with all my family members and properties in peace and they would have met empty houses to destroy.”
