The police in Osun have arrested one Yekini Ajao for attempting to obtain an undisclosed amount of money from some members of the public while falsely claiming to be a lawyer.
The suspect was said to have been arrested after weeks of being under surveillance.
He was apprehended while negotiating with some people in need of legal services in Osogbo.
Ajao, who was arraigned before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo for impersonation, on Friday, was said to have committed the crime on April 3, 2019.

The police prosecutor, Elijah Oluwasegun, stated that the accused falsely presented himself as a lawyer with a motive to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
The suspect pleaded not guilty to the charge and the magistrate, Segun Ayilara, ordered that he should be remanded in police custody for investigation of his certificates, while the case was adjourned till April 24.
