The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Offences Commission (ICPC) has on Monday returned N924m diverted from the coffers of the Federal Ministry of Environment to the ministry.
According to the Chairman of the ICPC, Bar. Ekpo Nta who spoke at a ceremony making the Release of Recovered Fund in Abuja, the amount was diverted from the desertification project of the ministry.
Nta handed over the money to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Mrs. Nana Nebe, at the ICPC headquarters on Tuesday.
Similarly, he also used the occasion to return, to the school principals, over N56m recovered from the N103m meant for feeding of students in three federal government colleges.
The schools involved are the Federal Government College, Odogbolu; Federal Government Girls College, Sagamu; and the Federal Science Technical College, Ijebu Mushin.
He promised to recover all government money diverted from all ministries, agencies or parastatals, calling for the peoples’ cooperation to make the execution of the commission’s mandate possible.
