Renowned Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has expressed her concern and reacted to the recent suicide attempt of Lagos socialite Farida Sobowale. The incident, which occurred on Thursday night, saw Sobowale attempting to take her own life on the Third Mainland Bridge.
Iyabo Ojo revealed that she had been on the phone with Sobowale for a considerable period of time but had no inkling that the latter was contemplating such a drastic step. The actress regretted not realizing Sobowale’s intentions sooner and expressed that if she had known, she would have kept her engaged in conversation. She conveyed her empathy and heartfelt prayers for Sobowale, assuring her that things would eventually improve.
Sobowale’s suicide attempt was foiled by a group of quick-thinking men who intervened just as she was about to jump off the bridge. A video of the incident circulated online, capturing the moment these individuals managed to restrain and console her, preventing the tragedy from occurring.
In response to the situation, Iyabo Ojo posted a heartfelt message on social media directed at Sobowale. She acknowledged the difficulties that her friend was facing and emphasized that this challenging phase would eventually pass.
