full list of charges against Fayose

Outgoing Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has vowed never to decamp to the All Progressives Congress (APC) should he decide to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor made this known on Tuesday in reacting to a statement by the APC chairman in Ekiti, Paul Omotoso, that he (Fayose) was not wanted in the party.

Fayose urged the APC leadership not to dissipate energy on the issue as he was not considering joining it in the first place.

He said, “APC my foot ! I will never have anything to do with APC .

“For the party ’s leaders to be saying that Fayose is coming to APC amounts to unnecessary dissipation of energy .
“I will never , ever , go to APC and will never ever have anything to do with the party.”

Fayose had threatened to leave PDP after his favourite candidate, Aminu Tambuwal, failed to clinch the presidential ticket of the party during the National Convention that held in Port Harcourt over the weekend.

He said, “We have no regret aligning with Governor Nyesom Wike to support Governor Tambuwal for the presidential ticket and no apologies either.

“We kept the party alive and strong when most men became ladies. We never compromised. If any group feels it can do it alone, we will see how far they can go.

“I may renounce my membership of the party if the need arises. In the main time, I and others will continue with our consultations while watching the turn of events.

“We cannot but appreciate leaders that have intervened so far, but this release became necessary to avoid fresh crisis or misrepresentation.”
