Bayern Munich star, Franck Robert has said he was robbed of the 2013 Ballon D’Or award.
He said that the prestigious award given to Cristiano Ronaldo that year should have been his.
In an interview with journalist Olivier Dacourt on Canal+ France, the Frenchman said, not winning the award felt to him “like a robbery”.
He disclosed that not enjoying the support of the whole country contributed to the reason he failed to win the award.
He said, “I had the support of some French people, but I didn’t have my whole country behind me.
“I saw with my own eyes French people, even coaches, saying: ‘It’s Cristiano Ronaldo.’
“Do you think Portugal would have liked Messi or Ribery? Impossible.
“Do you think Argentina would have wanted Ronaldo or Ribery to be Golden Ball? Impossible.”
