Nigerian music sensation Opeyemi Rahim, popularly known as Lyta, has candidly shared his desire to reunite with his former record label, YBNL Nation, during an appearance on the Ginger Yourself Podcast. The artist clarified that his departure from YBNL was not intentional and expressed a genuine wish to return.
In the podcast interview, Lyta revealed, “I want to be back with YBNL; what I did back then, leaving YBNL Nation, wasn’t intentional. I didn’t hear from Olamide before leaving, and after I left, he just locked up. But I’ve spoken to him since leaving. I chatted with him via Instagram on his birthday, and he responded.”
Responding to inquiries about Olamide’s current Instagram activity, Lyta disclosed, “No. He is not following anybody on Instagram.”
Lyta’s desire to return to YBNL Nation has brought attention to the circumstances surrounding his departure in 2019, marked by a fallout with the record label boss, Olamide. The ‘Monalisa’ crooner, in a 2022 interview, shared that he left YBNL Nation due to hearing “a lot of things from friends and people in the industry.” He elaborated on the challenge of discerning truth amid conflicting information, noting that external influences played a role in his decision to part ways with the record label.
