The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman has faulted those who accused ex-presidential aide, Reno Omokri of duping Leah Sharibu’s family.
Using the hashtag, Reno Undarted, some Twitter users had accused Omokri of soliciting funds on behalf of the abducted Christian girl’s family and keeping same for his personal use.
Omokri vehemently denied the accusation.
Now, Suleman has come out to back the US-based pastor, who was Special Assistant on New Media to ex-President Jonathan.
In a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Friday, Suleman said he donated N1 million to Sharibu’s family on the request of Omokri.
The fiery preacher said that Omokri provided Sharibu’s family’s bank account number and he paid the money directly into the account.
Suleman accused Omokri’s accusers of “fighting” a good man whose only crime was to help a family in need.
He said Omokri has “selflessly championed” the girl’s cause and deserves accolades not condemnation.
Suleman wrote, “Why must Nigerians fight good people? Reno Omokri has selflessly championed the cause of Leah Sharibu. I gave N1m to LEAH and he sent me the parents account.
“The mum thanked me on phone. Now you accuse such a man of fraud? Must we discourage good men?”
