Nigerian music sensation David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido has admitted to his fans on social media that his performance this year was below par.
Since he rose to limelight in 2011 with his single titled “Dani Duro”, the American-born artist has been fan favorite bagging different awards in the process but this year has been quiet for him.
Davido was responding to a fan who twitted that some of the artistes nominated for
the 2016 MTV Music Video Awards (MAMA) were nominated because Davido was away for eight months but Davido claimed that he doesn’t deserve any nomination this year.
“Some of these artists got nominated because @iam_davido left the scene for 8 months to work on new project wiv Sony/RCA” the fan tweeted
Davido responded that “I really shouldn’t be nominated this year. For what?? I got three MAMAS in two years. I’m good! still gonna be a great show! But next YEAR”
Some of the artiste nominated are Flavour N’abania, Olamide and Wizkid.
He is expected to drop his long-awaited album which had been on hold since he landed the deal with Sony.
