The Minister of Solid Minerals, Dr Kayode Fayemi has hinted that he would resign his position in the next one week.
Fayemi, who is the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the July 2018 gubernatorial election in Ekiti, made this on Wednesday evening after the Ekiti APC Primary committee chairman, Tanko Al-Makura presented officially presented him to President Muhammadu Buhari.
The former Ekiti governor said, “Well, I am the candidate of our party and I am also a minister of the Federal Republic at least for the next one week. So, for the next one week, I am the Minister of Mines and Steel.”
Reacting to Ekiti Governor, Ayodele Fayose’s claim that he will be defeated again like in 2014, Fayemi said, “As far as I am aware, Fayose is not on this ballot. We will deal with the candidate on this ballot and the track record that we have in Ekiti is what will sell us.”
