It was early last year when Rema announced that he had gained admission at the prestigious University of Lagos to study creative arts.

Shortly after his admission into the school, the annual ASUU strike occurred and all students, Rema, inclusive had to be away from the school environment.
However, in his recent interview with iHearts Radio, Rema disclosed that he has moved on from pursuing an academic degree from Unilag following the prolonged strike.
He said “I got admission last year but I bailed on it because they were on strike” he continued, “I wanted to really like strategise how I was gonna do schooling and touring, part time school but the whole strike just made it look awkward, it was like a glitch so I just had to move on from it”

He stated that he was going to pass on the admission because “life is crazy, life is fast”.
Rema when asked how his mother felt about his decision, he affirmed that though she wasn’t fine with it, she would eventually come to accept it.
