Nigerian singer Simi Kosoko has offered insight into her collaborative approach, revealing that she does not impose a fee on fellow artists seeking her involvement in their projects. During a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, Simi shared her discerning stance on participating in collaborations, shedding light on the factors that guide her decision-making process.
The multifaceted artist, who is also a mother, articulated that she evaluates each collaboration opportunity based on her genuine affinity for the music in question. In a clear statement of her commitment to authenticity, Simi disclosed, “Till this moment, I have never charged for a feature. For me to do a feature, I have to really like it.”
Simi further explained that her decision to engage in collaborations is contingent on her personal connection with the song. “I have to like the song. If I like the song, give me half a day, I am done. If I don’t like the song, I will most likely say no. It’s not personal. I can take a ‘No. Things are not personal; it’s just what it is,” she clarified during the podcast.
