Nigerian music producer and singer, John Udomboso, professionally known as Young John, has recently opened up about his belief in polygamy, expressing a preference for the freedom it provides over monogamous relationships.
In a candid conversation with media personality Toke Makinwa on the ‘Toke Moments’ podcast, the 28-year-old artist boldly shared his stance on relationships, emphasizing his desire not to be confined to a monogamous arrangement.
Young John stated, “I don’t want to be limited to just one woman. I am just free.” He challenged the conventional notion of monogamy, suggesting that many individuals may secretly share similar sentiments but are hesitant to acknowledge their true feelings.
The music producer debunked stereotypes associated with the entertainment industry, pointing out that while there might be a perception of promiscuity among musicians and entertainers, people from various walks of life engage in similar behaviors. He noted that musicians’ lives are more exposed, leading to heightened visibility of their actions.
Young John further clarified that his inclination towards polygamy isn’t solely influenced by the music industry, citing a lifelong curiosity about the traditional norms surrounding relationships. He remarked, “Ever since I was a young boy, I used to question everything. I’d ask why it has to be one man and one woman. Since then, I’ve always wanted to explore different routes. I don’t want to say fantasies.”
