Former Borussia Dortmund manager, Thomas Tuchel has reportedly told Bayern Munich leaders he is not interested in taking charge of the German champions.
Bayern is presently being managed by 72-year-old Jupp Heynckes, who has refused to agree to a contract extension despite persuasion from the board, local German papers report.
Heynckes took charge in October following the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti.
According to AFP, quoting Munich-based Sueddeutsche Zeitung, senior Bayern figures Uli Hoeness, Karl – Heinz Rummenigge and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic held a telephone conference with Tuchel on Friday, but failed to persuade him.
Dortmund sacked Tuchel following a dispute in 2017, despite winning the German Cup.
Bayern, who currently sit 17 points clear at the top of Bundesliga, are on course for their sixth straight league title.
They have reportedly shifted their attention towards RB Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhuettl, Eintracht Frankfurt coach Nico Kovac and Lucien Favre, who is presently at Nice in the French league.
Tuchel is reportedly in talks with Arsenal to replace Arsenal Wenger in the summer.
