Leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau has said that the military could not have destroyed his “farm” in Sambisa Forest because he did not have one.
This was after troops seized and burnt a farmland located within the dreaded forest which the military called Shekau’s.
A recent viral video on social media showed soldiers taunting the Boko Haram sect leader over the burning of the farm, daring him to come out and face them.
“Shekau where are you? See us on Shekau’s farm inside Sambisa. Shekau king of noise-making where are you? Come out now and see if we will not waste you.
“This is Shekau’s farm inside Sambisa. Villagers take as much of the products as you can after all it is yours.
“Shekau, see us on your farm, we are going to have our Juma’at prayers on your farm,” a soldier could be heard saying.
But in a Thursday video in which Shekau’s voice could be heard speaking in Hausa language, the terrorist explained that he had no farm in the forest.
In the 5:32-minute video, the Boko Haram leader also claimed responsibility for Wednesday’s bomb explosions in Maiduguri in which 16 people were killed and 60 injured.
