Popular Lagos lawyer, Festus Keyamo (SAN) has denied authoring an article titled ‘Christians and Islamisation of Nigeria’ currently circulating on social media.
He made this known in a late Monday evening tweet via his verified personal Twitter handle.
In the article cited by The Herald Nigeria, the lawyer purportedly described Nigerian graduates as gullible, unemployable and a “huge disgrace to the certificate they carry”.
He also purportedly urged Nigerians to disregard allegations that President Muhammadu Buhari was seeking to Islamise Nigeria.
“We Christians are always jittering. Always feeling inferior to people of other faiths. When will Muslim accuse us of Christianizing Nigeria? When? In the current democratic dispensation, out of 18 years, we have had Christian Presidents for 14 years. Obasanjo did 8 years while Jonathan 6 years. When did Muslim accused anybody of wanting to Christianize Nigeria?
“Even in the Christiandom, we hate ourselves so much that Pastors now spend more time discrediting fellow pastors and their churches in pulpit than preaching the gospel,” the lawyer allegedly wrote.
But in a single tweet on his Twitte handle, he distanced himself from the article.
He said, “There is an article ascribed to me presently circulating on Social Media titled, ‘Christians and Islamisation of Nigeria’. I never wrote such an article or granted any interview which is reflected in the contents of that article. Just for record purpose.”
